.

My spirit
remains fetal tonight, curled
in base protection
of its soft underbelly.
It's not the menthol bite
of January, or the silhouette
of spruce against impossible blue,
in an evening shivering raw, rattling
bare branch and firming the lake's
white lip, as winter will. A mere
inconvenience - an echo
of what's frozen,
what may thaw.

This is a magnificence that only Amaryllis can create.  Exquisite, in every word, line, image, like a delicate ice-carving.  I think that probably every poem of yours I read is my favourite of yours at the time of reading, and that is certainly true about this intensely beautiful sculpture.  And my wish for you is that what is frozen, may thaw.

Your choice of words is so unique and so very poetic, liked your title too,  and how you put it all together.

I love how your poetry makes me feel so much.

  I've missed you, A~.
