One night as I was strolling stars
A moonbeam through the window crept
It slowly paced my bedroom wall
And touched my pillow as I slept

Above my bed in the midnight air
An empty paper page of white
Slipped silently across my room
And rested in the opal light

As though it begged my soul to find
A page just waiting patiently
To feel the touch of silken ink
Flow down its face abundantly

In my unrest I rose from sleep
And pondered how this faithful friend
Descended from the star lit skies
And made me lift my poet pen

This is how you work, Liz.  You wake up in the middle of the night, sit at your desk, and produce a perfectly crafted gem within minutes.  You've done it again, my dear friend..

This is so nice!  I like how you set the scene.  Sevral times I have laid in bed with my thoughts wandering,
and sometimes if I'm lucky,  the birth of a poem is born.

Lovely poetry~

Well written and rhymed it flowed easilly, a sure sign that a poem is good is if it ''reads'' well and this does, thank you for sharing...

Liz - Crafted with the visual intent that only the poet can produce. I loved it. Often when we step out the box, the originality of the created piece has the definite stamp of our individuality and a life of its own like this one. Thanks for sharing ES. Namyh
