.

There is an element
Of incomprehension
Now that people you know
Are dying

You post your surprise
On the memory pages
Parrot other responses
Equally disturbed

That end you longed for
Draws closer by the hour
With each week that passes
Another falls

You travel your road
In far more caution
With more white crosses
By the edge of the curb

I do notice those crosses on the road. A young boy died here last year walking home and I saw his picture on the cross this year. Very sad.

Enjoyed, as I am fast approaching this time and have already begun to miss so many of my friends.I often think "Oh,I will call (any one of a good number of old friends) and then remember they will never again answer their telephone. jo

Thank you all

Like it or not
for Boomers our time
has come

Now in the best
or the worst
it will judge
for all after
the worth of our lives.

Thanks again

John

Oh, so you're a boomer too!
Nice poem.
