.

Having been ill
And now again
Taking interest
In the world

The sky dull
Gray and trees
Themselves still as
Waiting for morning

Or perhaps not just
The advent of usual
Light but something
Someone else waited
For all this time

I have no idea
As I sit here smoking
My pipe and yet I’m glad
Mystery or not yet coming

To be here
Even without you
Whoever you are

In warm rooms
Breathing
