This winter
might have froze us
without memories,
of hope

Our creation of fire
was borne,
of such times

Please soothe
our hearts
as they rattle,
our bones

Too bad
just like poetry
our history too rhymes

And under and over
our footsteps
are drawn

Weaving us closer
from hither,
and yon

Sewing together
the hollow and
wind

Stitches of certainty
good,
versus sin

The forest of
darkness,
a pinpoint
of light

Guiding us forward
the wonder,
of might

Tinsel
and tragedy
hung quiet,
with care

The season of
hollow day
strung,
through the air

No laughter of
past
or future,
adorning

Just presence of
sadness
on this,
Christmas mourning

Those holy
of infants
so tender,
and mild

Sleep silent
in peace now
sweet mother,
and child

Richy, I love your way and your sweet heart!
This is indeed a tender write.  My heart aches in ways I never knew.

Indeed it's so. Good Lines.

I like the weaving of current events..both seasonal, and situational.

Richy, this is such a wonderful tribute to all of the Sandy Hook little angels! My heart goes out to all the families especially at this time of year with Christmas so close. Just too sad!
Merry Christmas to you and your family!
