These are the only poems I've ever written. The same girl inspired both.

AWAKE

Awake
By moonlight still I wait
And soft, your smile asleep

Yet I would not touch your lips
But rather let the dawn
One rival to the other's gold
Awake you with the morn

LOST

In the deserted garden of my heart
I walk alone
Yet I built this place for you

And in the evening
Alone
I watch the moonlight
Dancing on a lake of dreams

Lake of dreams, very pretty. Nicely done.

Welcome to Passions.  These were quite good.  I know there is more poetry in you waiting to be stirred forth.  I hope you will continue to share it with us.

Thank you for the kind responses. At this rate, I will produce two poems every 25 years! I'll try to increase productivity, but I need inspiration.

Inspiration all around' - yes, I've been thinking that. If Robert Frost could write about a wall:

Something there is that doesn't love a wall,
That sends the frozen-ground-swell under it,
And spills the upper boulders in the sun...

I should be able to find something!
