in the shadows

This morning clings to night,
as if to stay apace
with moods grown dark and dreary
from sipping bitter dregs of dharma's rituals,
the tying tight of laces on soul's bondage straps and braces,
reminding me escape still hides elusive,
entangled hidden threads in dreams' untethered skein;

it feels as years in passing
without grey enduring grace
from witching point of sleep's sad end,
and light's slow dripping cold rain's taste
from eves and trees as each shadow demon flees
into its cubby keep while life's illusion slowly wakes,
to take possession of this day.

You write the dark so well, and bring to life the changing shades.  (not as in shades of grey)  But you get what I'm saying, the dark flows effortlessly from your pen. Like the endless lap of waves against the shore.  Life takes it's own turn and you write it beautifully, truly you do.
