For nearly thirty years, ‘I’ was ‘we’,
and ‘we’ was me, and the boys.
It’s been a while;
but still, sometimes,
it seems strange to once again
be ‘I’.

I certainly can relate to this one.  I wouldn't believe it possible to survive as "I" once you've been part of a true "we" but here I am...  I on the outside and half a we on the inside.  (Hugs)

I am glad that "you" came to share the "I" with "us".

This is poignant and very touching....and it makes me sad too. I am a firm believer when it comes to being comfortable in our own company.  I guess because when it's all said and done, I want to be there for me.

Wishing you well dear Poetess~

I agree with Blusey! As long as I can remember I was comfortable being who I was.I was "we" for 47 years but each with our own identities. For the last 17 years back to "I". As long as we know who we were and still are and keep our minds working the change comes with a certain ease.It is those who end the "I" when they become "we" who lose all around even before the departure of one half of "we". Best to you all,jo

Sometimes "I" is not so bad when you get to know them.

Thanks so much guys.  Oh yeah, I'm okay with being 'I', but sometimes it seems strange.  And after all that time, the 'I' I was back before the 'we' is not the 'I' I am now.

I've always been comfortable with "I", and have always maintained that space even with "we" having existed since '74 - and I allow the same space to her, my belief being it takes two "I's" to truly be a we.

enjoyed, my friend....
