Good Morning Los Angeles

And I sighed,
good morning Los Angeles
the sun that hides
is the sun that must rust
at the hot red tail end caboose o' the day
future footprints before me that will lead one way
or another
oh the sky, my brother,
which path should I take?

And I cried,
good lovin' is a rarity
so hard I've tried
to swim to the banks of clarity
as lonesome daggers rain down relentless
there ain't no god to get me out of my own mess
just a light
oh this town, this night,
what truths should I buy?

Oh on a morning,
a light of green eyes lit my way
a heart born to dream
borne on tired hopes, doomed to pay
the piper with a shot in the mouth
the girl with the umbrella just a little south
of nowhere
and nowhere's where I wanna go with her
stars that sparkle and blur
like an eyelash caught by a breeze
she never said this love would be easy

And I sighed,
good morning Los Angeles
the moon that rides
the sky via Greyhound bus
at the cooling embers o' the evenin'
past fingerprints smoothed out all my sins
altogether
oh the sky, dear mother,
whose hand should I hold?

And I cried,
lovin' is in dire need
so long I've tried
to bind these wounds that bleed
as heartbreak staggers into the eye of dawn
walking the summer square with no sense of wrong
or right
oh this town, this light
which lie should I hide?

Oh on a waterfront,
breaking autumn stars into sand
a dream born from want
for this bare thread of a life in my hand
has seen some much better days
the girl with the headphones looks the other way
I'm nowhere
now 'Nowhere Man' is the song I sing to fly
uneasy skies with no reason why
a grey cloud producing not a drop of rain
she never said there'd be no more pain

And eyes wide,
I sighed,
good morning Los Angeles
the autumnal tides
are satiating my wanderlust
at the warming point of absolution love
I'll be chasing down feathers of transient doves
I dunno why
but oh the sky, dear firefly,
which feather is the one?

And oh the sky, dear brother,
which path should I take?
Oh this town, this night,
what truths should I buy?
Oh the sky, dear mother,
whose hand should I hold?
Oh this town, this light
which lie should I hide?

Oh the sky, sweet sister,
Los Angeles & I, like nowhere men we fly
you're the reason, the song I sing to fly.

I loved each and every line, I could have kept reading on and on and on. Enjoyed.

So many lights... so many lies.  Gotta love L.A.  Love the lyrical feel to this... and the reference to "Nowhere Man."  that's a great song.  Nicely done.

Wow wow wow!!  Kind of stifling and a bit overcast and wet, but dayummm, you still manage to stir the air and write it beautiful.

Way cool, dude!!!
