Fog clouds the air
draping the sky in a thin veil
breathing warm vapor
settles in a slow swirl
the wind chill
slides across my neck
as an unexpected upsweep
flutters deep in the heart
and my lips long
for your damp touch
pressed
against the down
folded
between the warmth
of embers
where a slow burn
strokes
a dream on fire
soft whispers
fall like snow flakes
as the mountains peak
in the evening hush
slow dancing
in the winter wind
frozen in time.

Beautiful words just like I remember Lori.
Nice to read you again. I talked to Maureen a while back. Hoping she starts writing again too.

Wow, such compelling verses on one's thoughts, a dreamy sleepwalk, or a great
wintry evening at the shore.  Very nice writing!!  Mesmerizing...

Beautiful, Bluesy.  Writing that sets the mind to wandering and then to wonder if one should go a-wandering!

Sweetness and effortless beauty. Just about makes me fall in love with winter, my least favorite season, so good on you.
Great write.

I really like that 'dream on fire'. Nicely done. Takes me somewhere I haven't been in far too long.

A lovely rhythm as though a waltz was
playing softly, I really enjoyed,

Aww Richy, you always take me by surprise!! It's not quite as blue around here without you. (I mean that in a good way, like true blue)
Merry Christmas to you and many blessings in the New Year.

mellowdown~ Thanks for reading my poem, and welcome to the blue sea.  Hope you can stay awhile and get comfortable.

What a beautiful train of words, my friend. They give me hope that one day maybe my own mightslide so well before the eyes.

Loved the whole piece, but those . . . well, inspire.

Any time spent by a seaside will surely uncover this all-embodying phenomenon called fog and you’ve surely given it much character here in your poem. Enjoyed!

A, DP and Bob~  Thank you so much for leaving me your nice replies.

Yup, the fog isn't all bad, so long as it lifts now and then, like the upsweep.

It's exhillarating!  Thanks again~
