I agree with Victoria, a quite lovely photo.  I often wonder, when viewing something naturally beautiful, if we assume arrogance on their/its part?  In the case of the blue jays, I've never had the chance to observe them in their actions, so I'll take your word for it.     ...And if they are, well who could blame them?

those big fat bluejays do accentuate the haiku very well ( or perhaps rather the haiku accentuates the image ).

i too cast a bluejay in a haiku ( or is it senryu? ) that i penned long ago on a sentimental early morning:

morning sparrow lights
then bluejay, and cardinal
new day, same old love.

in alabama, we pronounce it: "card-nal", but isn't card-in-al actually three sylabols?

"arrogance" is an excellent metaphor that magnificently illustrates the bluejays confident character.

it can be reasonably inferred that " bright blue arrogance " is a cleverly devised and ingeniously implemented allusion to regal pomp as a figurative portrait of the birds teritorial and dominant nature.

profundity is most impressive when expressed subtly.

this is masterful work.

Ethern, I am blown away by your compliments. Thank you ever so much. And I also love your piece.

Victoria, thank you, I appreciate your comment.

Michael, so glad you like the photo. I've been trying for weeks to get a decent shot of those crazy bluejays

James Michael, thanks. I always love hearing from you!
