My grandson made origami roses
and wrapped them
just for me
These roses are so special
never to wilt or die
he made these red and yellow roses
with his two loving hands.

He notices when I wear perfume
and tells me when I smell nice
and he loves it when I cook
his favorite dish lasagna
and I know one day
he will fall in love
and he will give her real roses
but I would rather
have these origami roses
from the garden of his heart.

A poem is never finished, only abandoned.

That's a special feeling there... perhaps only, or at least more understandable in watching your grandchildren growing up, and the unconditional love they lavish upon you.
You've captured it well.
