Fair to middlin' of nowhere

0 posted 2012-11-19 01:19 PM

This year
when I’m asked
what I’m thankful for
the list is long
and somewhat weird
so that a simple response
is hard to say

First of all
I’m just thankful to be here
And for finding some of
my missing marbles
along the way
My demons
didn’t do me in
And my house is feeling
like my home again

I’m thankful for
all the things I have
to complain about
just because I can

I’m thankful for
all my emotions
Because they are evidence
that I can still feel
I’m alive on the inside too

I’m thankful for
all the love I’ve been shown
in all of love’s shapes and forms
It blesses my heart
to love them back
and call them all my own

I’m thankful for
the magic of poetry
The wizardry of written word
finding common ground
like a golden thread
that entwines us

Beautifully done, Lori, and you seem to have much to be thankful for this time around. Bless you.

This is a nice time of year to be thankful for the little things. Enjoyed.

Thank you Victoria. Yes, this is the time of year when the little things turn out to be big things after all.

How very well-worded.  Well thought-out and clearly and effectively communicated. I'm glad I ran by today and got to read it.

Pilgimage I thank you so much for your in-depth critique of my poem, I feel you read it beyond the surface.  Bless your heart and have a happy holiday.
