Fair to middlin' of nowhere

My heart is a snow globe
full of glittering sparkles
pulsing fountains
as I read
my words
to you...

May my poetry
feel listening to...
worth
your attention's time

and

gently touch you
with some delight

LGR(C)10/31//10

(had the opportunity to read at an open mike at a local book store/coffe shop and have been asked to read at my parent's Retirement Center and another Nursing Home in a small town close by. This Poem was written in anticipation of reading in front of my parent's group)

Completely and satisfyingly well done, Lori. The people at the book store/coffee shop, the Retirement Center and the other Nursing Home are in for a treat. Plus, it helps our ego when someone smiles, or even cries at our written words. Please let us know how it all turns out. I'm very happy for you.

I'm sure it will go well (not bragging) first time in my life to really have a sense of confidence in myself. It gives me an opportunity to share a diversity of my work to fit who I'm reading to. The real feather in my cap is when the Nursing Home was inquiring about me, they wanted to know how much I would charge to do it!  Little did they know I'd have paid them!

That's wonderful, my friend ... I played Santa at a nursing home, years ago, and it was one of the most touching experiences of my life.

Enjoy this ... and go with the intention of having fun ... and you and they will benefit
imensely!!

Im sure they loved your poetry. I lived in Hawaii for while and belonged to the newcomers group. We use to hula dance for a nursing home and they loved it and I enjoyed it too.

Dear Lori,
I'm so happy that you are reading your poems aloud.
So many people,  young and young at heart, will be
touched by your poems.
Wonderful,
Ms. E
