                  Certainties

In this Autumn twilight rainbow-forest,
’mid seasons idling on the cusp of time,
what shall pass?...
and what remain?...
as certain certainties
beyond these Autumn winds
  of change,
when the winter-heart and soul
  turn clear
as the crystal moonlight,
dancing through the frosted
  pines
with all the dreams we’ve left
  behind,
like  retreating shadows,
and no illusions stand…
to chasten this boundless universe,
but infinitely nested and cascading
perpetual motion, change, and Time.

The last two lines caused me to sit up and take a critical look at you poem again. I like the idea that facing the winter of our life we think about what we have left behind in our cluttered past to anger the ones who are there to anger. I absolutely love this poem and it goes into my library . . .

Thanks Jerry! ... some folk's past are more 'cluttered' than others.
I often feel like I've lived at least 2 1/2 'lifetimes' squeezed into one.
If I've achieved 'wisdom,' it may have been at too high a cost; and
that was mostly that all my 'knowledge' has only brought me ever
closer to my 'ignorance' ... especially about 'human nature' and
behavior.

I always love this time of year in as you called it the rainbow forest. Enjoyed.
