#5. stone by stone

Ok, ok I have three books under my belt for this week alone
but procrastination can only deter
this need for so long
I have been tasked
and I must start
piles of pebbles push at my feet
as if Someone else is helping.

A studied survey shows
a tangled stony muddle
this is not a pretty wall
at all
finality has cemented each
into its in place.

Sin?
Anger?
Bitterness?
Unforgiveness.

No. Grief.
It is woven into every complexity.
and unforgiveness stands firm at the base.

I will go no further today
I cannot forgive death
and I can do no more
crying.

Lord cover me
shelter me from
myself...

Grief can be the cement which gives the base of the wall an almost impregnable mass of contradictory onslaught against free will and freedom. Dismantle it pebble by pebble, luminosity.

Luminosity, I have read every one of these latest poems of yours, and I wanted to reply to each of them, but I just couldn’t.  I felt so powerless to help in the face of such anguish, and I still do.   As regards humans, other than friends on Pip, I haven’t had any humans to grieve – my parents . . . well, I will rather keep quiet about them . . . but my horse, my previous cat and my previous dog who are in Heaven, I grieve for them every day and my horse has been in Heaven for 10 years, my dog for nearly 3 years, and my cat for 2 years – and all my previous animals, though seeing that my dog was 14½ years old and my cat was 15½, so my previous dogs and cats went to Heaven a very long time ago, but I miss them all very powerfully – and so yes, I understand grief through death, but of animals.  I wish I could help, but I don’t know where to begin, except that I care that you are so anguished.

oh owl thankyou...I have grieved deeply over the loss of my dogs as well, they too are protected behind my wall....but even as I write, my hand trembles and my eyes tear up...what shall be shall be...thank you for your love and care

Sometimes we can misplace our understanding,
our compassion for others, our willingness to
face tragedy head-on, and we are then
captive to complacency.

With each breath, each second,
each day, week, month, and year we unconsciously move toward a new beginning.
It is faith that is the glue which holds all things
together and in place.  All we need do
is perceive that which seems impossible
and trust in its truth,
and go along for the ride.

God bless, and a big hug to you!!

Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. Love your neighbor as yourself.
