STARLIGHT BANTER 28 October 2012 The sky is quietly dark tonight and though the silvered moon peeps shyly from behind a diaphanous cloud, the stars mischievously wink their secret and her eyes twinkle back while a soft smile plays mysteriously on her lips. Owl |

Thank you, Bruce and Jimmy. Yes, my tears flow for the 13 in the USA and the 65 in the Carribean who lost their lives and their families and those who experienced terror and/or loss of property and/or utilities and/or conveniences. I have never experienced anything of weather disasters at all, not even a minor flood where my feet were under water up to my ankles. The nearest I ever was, was through the experiences of Suthern and her two cats, Kate and Colin some years ago Ike, I think that was - and that horror has never left me. I can't begin to imagine what it must be like to live through such things - or, for that matter, to die as a result of one of them. May God bless the Americas and sustain all their people and animals in strength and survival determination in the face of such disasters and in total recovery of mind, body and spirit. Owl |

Thank you, luminosity. You say such lovely things about my poetry. It is very good for my confidence, smiles! Yes, I can't get them out of my head for long. It is coldish tonight and an electric globe blew and sprung out of the lamp and fell along with about 4 red sparks on to my lounge chairs in my study and I was complaining about both these things and the fact that my study is now so dark and the computer screen is so bright and I need to work and I can't get the remaining piece out of the lamp to replace the globe and my son is at a meeting tonight and will probably only be able to pop in tomorrow to get it out for me - then felt SO ashamed of myself, thinking of what those people are going through in comparison to my silly little minor inconveniences. On top of that, 9 people have died in much lesser floods here (2 of them struck by lightning)in a rural area. Owl |
