He tries, and so must I, as well.
He closes my laptop and dwells
despite my arguments.

He sells me back my nurturing.
He plays guitar enticingly
and splays my chords in augment, we

have conversations without sound.
His footsteps shake the sacred ground
as if to wake the dead.

Exquisite, Karen.  Love it!  So sensitively Karen=excellent!  Left me pondering on the identity of the mystery man (but not asking) . . .

Very persuasive is the other here. Seduction by persistence. Very well constructed.

I just checked Jerry's lovely poem, and while it is true that I do have bangs and I am brunette when I'm inclined to have my chair done, I don't believe I'm that Lady.

And smile, not all relationships are romantically inclined. This was inspired by my son, who keeps closing my laptop and placing books for me to read on top of it.

And huge hugs for Diana, it's so lovely to see you here again.

My gratitude to you all.

I try to refrain from asking
and I rarely concede to tell

a poem is always twice

once from the author - dead
on to the listener - alive

take care if asking why

Interesting...the comments of the readers! We live in a multiplicity of worlds. There are the worlds of fact/fiction, truth/lies, conventional/unconventional...the list goes on and on.
Socialization, human interaction and a  multitude of other experiences adds to one's knowledge.
When one does not understand, it is comforting to know one can go to others and ask questions. The dialogue that follows may be direct or not.
In relation to comments, the one that got my attention was the one by Krawdad...to paraphrase..."a poem is twice written, once in the mind of the poet and the other in the mind of the reader"...with the point being, the poet should not explain the poet's meaning to the reader.
Hmmm, conventional acceptance is sometimes hard for me to understand. I realize, in the civilized world, we live within boundaries and with boundary functions but if one is seeking understanding or validation, wherein is the problem...if the poet explains the meaning and, thus, bends conventional practice?

It's all good, rv. I didn't mind bragging on my son anyhow. (He's worried that my brain might turn to mush--it's good to know that he notices?--and besides, I think he enjoys having book discussions with me, so it's actually quite nice.)

My love to yo all.

That was my first guess...your son. You're a lucky mom...but he's a luckier son.
