When I was young,
it seems I wrote poetry as if it would save my life,
as if by gathering my silly tricks of rhyme,
meandering through choices
made while stitching seams
in time's patched illusion of infinite abandonment,
I could with other hands at leisure's pace
hammer thoughts in patterned steel,
made sharp and real to slice hard edged
through knots entangled in soft mouths of hope
that fed upon my dreams;
those days are gone,
washed away by nightmare streams
eroding memory's debris laced screams
as life races to oblivion's ocean of infinity.

Your poem was a joy to read...I, too, have grown old and find myself looking back and reflecting...both interesting and sad...how quickly time passes.

It is a wandering - at least it seems that way to me.
Your poetry often gives me ideas . . .

oh my..I picked the perfect day to read, seeing so many names from the past.

I am also finding the writing to be harder  for me. I think it is because I am seeing the world in different colors right now.

Always a pleasure to read you.

Timely and sad.  Hugs!
