Yesterday's Love
(from Faces of Love)

Crossed paths with an old lover today.

Memories?
Lordy, I felt like it was yesterday!
So much love, so many emotions.

And yes, it was yesterday -
so many of them in the past,
long before the winds of today.

It was yesterdays love
filled with all the wonders
that provided the foundation
for the immensity of the love
I have today.

The love for the one that shares my heart,
my life, my family, and the yesterdays
they have given today.

Yesterday's Love . . .

Our hands touched,
and the sparks that flamed,
said goodbye,

again.

Utopia and the descent into the valley of what used to be. I was fortunate quite a few years ago to reunite with my first wife. She was married, so was I. Mattered not, as you said in this poem, hands touched, sparks flamed. After three month of intense physical activity we managed to find in motels, and once in the car, we said goodbye, but I cherish those three months of stolen memories to this very day.

Interesting...how we grow...learn...and appreciate our yesterdays. You have expressed it well, JW. Enjoyed the sharing of an experience...RV
