simplicity is the ultimate sophistication
the so-called sophisticates
are counterfeit shams
to live a life of simplicity
means not you are a simpleton
but that you are uncomplicated and open
not tight-lipped
or morally constipated
and don't look down your censorious
nose at those
you feel are inferior
still . . .
there comes a time of revealing
even unto ourselves
who, and what we are
we all
at one point in life
must gather around us
the melancholy of consequence
and ask ourselves
are we as uncomplicated
as the person sitting next to us

I love this question of observation! And oh how I wish I were as uncomplicated....

I find this to be an intriguing piece... probably because I consider myself to be quite simple, and yet I know most others don't "get me" at all; to them I am the human embodiment of complicated.  I wonder if my view of self is universal?... that is to say, is there anyone really complicated who actually holds that opinion of himself/herself?... without just being that way purposely for their own sdistic joy in seeing the discomfort it causes others.  Good writing, my friend.

I don't know, Michael, although I do know that there are people who think their stuff don't stink, and that goes right along with being a very complicated person to me. I don't think you are complicated, I think you are very uncomplicated, you believe what you believe and nothing can change that belief, that is uncomplicated. You are you.
