It's only been four years.
Four tedious, miserable years.
And still it remains unnoticed by you.
For someone who pays such close attention to detail,
One might think you would be more observant of the ambiance.
It's almost like your subconscious is punishing me,
And I know I have done you wrong.
You would think that the blood running through my veins,
Would mean a little more,
But I have learned that forgiveness is not an option you have chosen.
I'm waiting for that one day when you might finally open your eyes,
And maybe you'll see it for the first time,
That I am not the same as I used to be. And maybe, neither are you.
And sometime, I hope, you will notice what four years can do.
Before it's too late,
For I can already hear the sirens in the distance,
And this time I will let them catch up.
