PRODIGAL INTERNAL ALARM CLOCK
8 October 2012

Yeee haaa!
After being awol
for a decade or so,
my internal alarm clock
has slunk back
into the corral
and is slicker than ever
by four full minutes . . .
and now when sleepiness kicks me
like a bucking bronco’s hooves
between my eyes,
and I can’t work
a second longer,
I can saddle up my internal alarm clock
and get a full night’s sleep
in six glorious minutes,
and wake like a Jack-in-a-Box,
refreshed and ready
to gallop through
hours and hours more work.

Oh Diana, it sounds like you're getting your third wind..

how great is that!

isnt life just soo much about, energy?

god i sure miss that.. that vital strength of youth

but we go on and we go on yes.. the best we can

some regrets for sure.. but we just try and keep our gaze forward

its too easy to trip, if we have our eyes over our shoulder

loved this it was great.. wonderful job

Giggles, Jimmy, glad you enjoyed it and heard that opening line so loud and clear!  My internal alarm clock did that for years, then for about a decade, it went into overdraft and had me sleeping for half an hour instead of 10 minutes.  HOWEVER, last week, on Thursday, for the first time in ages I got it down to11 minutes, then on Friday to 8 minutes, then on Saturday, my all-time record of 6 minutes!

Thanks for enjoying Richy.  I have always had inexplicable health and energy, but I thought I had lost my ability to revive my energy in 10 minutes’ sleep when I was really tired after long hours of work, but hey presto!  It returned!  I am so chuffed.  It is very useful to be able to do this.
