Lumpy oatmeal makes me crazy!

Sugar cookies arranged on china
plates, would drip diamond crumbs,
to light up a monochomatic world.
If only Abby had just one thumb
to hold tea parties under
cottonwoods covered with snow

Off-key songs sung to the moon
and secrets shared from ear to ear
would tease a flirtatious smile
from the warmth of deep brown eyes.
Instead, there is only longing
to serve snowflakes in dainty tea cups

as Abby wishes on random stars

that
   she
     only
   had
     a
thumb

Gorgeous!  Love it!  Alison, please give Abby lots of hugs and kisses and telling her she is gorgeous, beautiful, clever, cute, lovable and loved from Auntie Di and happy woofles and a very waggy tail from Benji (and Cleo sends happy meeows and friendly purrs from the top of a high bookcase, not being sure if Abby eats cats!)

Nothing wrong with dreams like that ... I have 2 thumbs and sometimes have almost this same dream.

Love seeing you again...my dear friend.

Thank you all.  I was doodling with words and just wrote this for my Abby dog.  She is a dancing dog and looks like she would enjoy a good tea party.  Anyway, I am rusty at writing and came back to dabble a bit.

Love you guys lots!

loved this little cutey poem..

i think many of us dream of our pets being a tad more humanlike, in only the good ways of course, where they could maybe express themselves to us in more articulate ways.. but the appeal of these special little guys is probably the fact that they are simply, not human.. and arent jaded in ways that most of us become after only a short time here on earth

i really enjoyed this sweet Ali.. i hope you decide to pick up your pen a little more often.. you have such a unique and special way about you that all of us just love reading about..

hoping all is well with you and yours up alasky way

This is all about a special connection...
and since I had an Abby dog myself,
I can appreciate all that it entails!

We love our dogs...and though they lack opposable thumbs, they function quit well in the world when they use their lovable personalities to get a person to fetch for them.

Giggles, r v woo!  Well said!  I have always said that they are so much cleverer than mere humans, lol!  I can just hear that bark, "Fetch!"

I fell in love with dear Abby, the poem was wonderful. I could feel and see all of it in a dreamy state. This was just perfect...now I desire cookies, may bake some chocolate chip cookies when I get home. Much enjoyed
