Judy Lee

(from Boyhood Tales)

It was slow
and not so smooth,
around a stump in the backyard,
on the grass,
more a necking than a dancing,
but it was fluid,
and easy,
and we floated to Elvis'
"Love Me Tender" . . .

Nineteen Fifty-six,
first dance of the night,
memorialized,
in my mind.

Thank you Elvis,
and thank you,
Judy Lee ,
for the gift
you gave.

Oh, I thanked Elvis many times for the gifts I received. I understand you well.

Great write, j.

Now I know where the phrase:"Judy, Judy, Judy"
came from...  Your Boyhood Tales.

Very much enjoyed, my friend.

This makes me smile ~ and if I close my eyes, I can see you both (does that make me a voyeur?).

Jerry -

Yeah, I loved it when Elvis sang...he did the prep and we reaped the benefits!!! LOL

Blues ...

Romance is what it was all about, in my book.
Thanks for coming in...

JL -

In real life her name was Millicent, but somehow that just didn't translate as well as Judy Lee.  Thanks for visiting man.

Alison -

My friend you can be anything you want and I'll accept it.
