The Wish

Warm autumn breezes caress my face
As I watch the sun set in the west
Light clouds drift across the sky like lace
Painted pink show nature at its best

Silence descends with evening’s twilight
While the full moon raises in the east
First star brings to mind star light star bright
Evening’s romance as magic’s released

Drifting into velvet embraced dream
Meeting a shadow under the moon
Holding hands they walk along the stream
Sharing the lonely sound of a loon

As night deepens they walk in silence
Not needing words to express feelings
Each is using their soul for guidance
Letting true love do timeless healing

Walking to the well in the meadow
They share an ancient magical wish
Seen from the trees by a star sent doe
Who will place before the stars the wish

Reads like a story book tale
from the Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire...
Enjoyed the read.

Wonderful imagery, Karen, and a wish to be granted is the way I see it. This is such a lovely piece of writing.

imagery and 'Romanticism' most fine indeed !!

That 'true Love' is a grand concept; but, for
some of us, magnificently elusive ...
