I stare at her latest photo
smiling only for me
(let me have my dream)
that smile
same one that caught my eye
letting me understand
there is pleasure behind the smile
more pleasure
than I have encountered
in all my years
if I stare at the picture long enough
I swear I see her lips move
and they say . . . "Pat!"
