LOVE BIRDS

Perched up high upon a branch
In the air he feels romance
Patiently he sits and wait
To concede to natures fate

Then he sees her flirt on by
He flashes bright wings to catch her eye
He then begins to sing and dance
To tweet and twitter, to preen and prance

She's intrigued by all the flutter
Spell bound, she sees no other
Soon she joins in his love song
Now only to him does she belong

He makes their bed with bits of twine,
Moss and twigs all entwined
In hopes she sees he's done his best
To give to her a true love nest

Beak to beak they coo together
Two love birds in nest of feather
Soon hatchlings begin to peep
Baby birds they sing to sleep

So it goes, it's natures way
And it's still true today
Two birds in love together
Mated now and forever

I see that Lori is deeply touched by this tribute, as she well should be. Wonderful expression of love, Kat.

Thanks Lori, so glad you like it! You inspired me when you asked about the birds and bees.

Thanks JP, your comments are always greatly appreciated!

When I was twelve the neighbors had two caged "love birds." I'm blind so can't describe them . I would sit, intranced, by their cage listening to them twittering and feeling them putter about.  I somenhow imagined then could communicate with me, or me with them, if I were just quiet and still.  I thought that had something to tell me.  I thought that if I sat with them long enough, close enough, quietlytly gently, they could tell me the secret of life.  I would fantasize about being a bird.
But instead, the "real world" intruded, poluted, corrupted, and by the time I was thirteen, like all teenagers, I HATED everything ... Mother ... EVERYTHING.

i just love watching the birds carry on around the trees surounding my house or at the lake nearby..

sad when one of my cats, brings one home though

i had to smack one free from the maw of death the other day

so glad he flew off to live another day

this was very sweet my friend
