Inspired by the story written by a talented poet on these blue pages
The Gate

Gazing into the ancient mirror
seeing leaves and branches shape
as if life is given to the wind
taking a form familiar

Holding hands afraid to look around
fearing the vision vanish
as one they walk through the looking glass
to stand before natures gate

Sharing glances eyes ask questions
neither have the answers to
for it is rare that true love speaks
leading to the gate they stand before

Should they follow the pathway ahead
or return through the mirror
where they can live out their lives safely
or take a chance through the gate
