He had a scar just below his right shoulder
where the pain use to ring so strong
the shadows of the road
would lose its falter

Her hands touched his shoulder
as if she was guiding them to another railway

The one his Grandpa use to travel on
as he traveled back and forth
from the war to his cottage

Those wrinkles of time
a man who fights for his life
is now one who fights for
the right to be happy

Time changes our lives
how our eyes become disenchanted
with the wolves and how they move
instead of our grandfathers scars
and the ways of the road
tried the sunset
only to see a sunrise beset the black canals

I inhale the joy and sorrow, the rising hopes and desolation painted into the beauty of this living, breathing gem and admire the returning soldier for his positive determination.  Like him, I see and feel the wrinkles, but the sunrise too.  This is delicately and sensitively beyond exquisite.

Owl-

I appreciate the kind words, but after viewing it a second time, it feels rushed.  It could have been better...oh well.

Cheers
