Moving

Boxes piled everywhere
Here I am doing it
How will I ever find
Where to put everything

Stacked in the middle floor
Each room becomes cluttered
Black marker tells it all
Living room, kitchen, hall

All that’s left is bedroom
All else is stacked there
Hiding the bed from view
I’m too tired for dreams

Find a space to curl up
Grab a blanket comfort
Eyes close from pure fatigue
Darkness captures the mind

The sun brings a new day
Smiling I look forward
Claiming each space as mine
The first time on my own

Joy fills my soul with glee
A dreamers hand I have
Wall will shine with nature
All my dreams come to life

Moving is so much work
But in the end it’s right
Wind blows and spirit soars
I create my own world

Ah, Karen, you may be too tired to dream, but you aren't too tired to write your lovely poetry and come here to post it. I'm so happy for you that you have found that home to call your own. Congratulation. The poem laid it all out as you are living it. Boxes on top of boxes. Yes, indeed. Been there. done that.

I know moving is exhausting, both mentally and physically... but I can already picture the beautiful home you'll create with your dreamers hand. *S*

And therein lies all the magic, dear Karen! You have the right idea. How nice that you came to share your life-changing move here with us. Wish you all the energy you need to get things done, step by step. Joy and gratification will manifest while you are busy "creating your own world".

This is a very dynamic poem.

Love,
Margherita

Karen:  been there;  rather not do that again! This part especially caught my attention:  "Hiding the bed from view
I’m too tired for dreams" for the myriad of subtle possible implications, intentional or not...  Here's to rest, effort, and vision!

I hate moving but sometimes it can be a very good thing in the long run. A whole new adventure.
