When the leaves fall from off the trees,
And the days get shorter for me,
Leaves! Tear yourself loose from the limb,
And I'll sing to you an old hymn.

Autumn comes in majestic view,
The colors! The colors! Who knew?
Leaves on the trees caught in between,
Bright reds, vibrant blues, what a scene.

I'll be glad when I'll see the bright,
Blanket of snow with its pure white,
Where thoughts of old St. Nick are dear,
Hot Buttered Rum I raise and cheer!

How beautiful and delightful all together, dear Jerry. The shorter days are certainly a bit melancholic, but the explosion of colors is magical.

Happy "Fall into Winter"!

Hot buttered rum...mmm

Some people hate winter, but I  personally love it.  Can't wait here either.

Thanks, Michael, I actually love Fall, but I take winter over summer.

"Hot Buttered Rum I raise and cheer!"

Never had one, but it sounds great.

I'm with you, Mr., summer be gone!
Lookin' for snow and frosted windows...
Nice feelings of cheer in this write.

Enjoyed, Jerry.

Hi Karen, all season have their beauty, as well as their bad times. It takes all to make it all work I'm thinking. Thanks for stopping by.

Wish it would stay in fall for a while with temperatures to match -- I'm done with the heat!  Nice imagery.  So... would margarine work instead of butter if one's vegan...?
