Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Pulling myself together
from files and drives
folders notebooks
stashed stacks
and forgottens
found
I was amazed to see
what I had ammounted to
so far as I could find
I know I've left a lot
of me here and there
along the way...

I could probably
go track back down

But.....

Having just taken stock
and reviewed
all the emotions
I have been
in rapid fire
succession
out of sync

I'd like to think
I'd find my way
back to me
on my own

I think you're a prime candidate for "I'll find my way back to me on my own."

It always seems to be overwhelming, those scattered bits and pieces, things that ARE us as we travel through life, and then we put them all in perspective, collect them and rearrange them back into where we know we will never forget what they mean and where they are, well...
until the next time we feel the need to pull ourselves together.

Love this write!!
I think it's a reflection most
can relate to.  You said it so well.

Thank you JL for your reassuring comment...I didn't think anybody but Jerry was going to get it.

now this sounds like something I would've written
years ago
before all these changes

now I might not ever get back to me

Margherita, it is true.  Poems I thought were lost forever... I have found a few more right here under my nose. Poems from back in the 90's and back.

After all the changes you are still you we will forever be the sum total of our past and present. Going back and for the first time putting all my poetry together and finding "parts of me" missing, I decided not to worry about what was gone and just let what was supposed to come back to me be okay. The day after I wrote that while looking for something else I found poems I was looking for plus a few more forgotten and unfinished. It felt like a prayer answered
