Shadows lengthen like the nights,
darker each day after dusk,
cooler breath of breaze, softer.
Starlight absorbed into a new
mind, changed by long waited
for mild autumn fayer.Senses
roused, quivering and ready, awaiting,
longing for dry days dropping
like amber dreams, leading, calling
to take you where sundrenched
trees sway together in their
florid but fading garb, dancing
to a tune only they
hear, cascading colourful carpets
of leaves, shaking them off,
a final act before winter
snatches light from their show,
plunging them into dark inaction.

music was my refuge.i could crawl into the spaces between the notes and curl my back to loneliness - Maya Angelou

A beautiful, dreamy painting of Nature, in all her quiet beauty.

What a beautiful image of autumn! Fall is so brief where I live... but I can appreciate the splendors of autumn through words like this! *S*
