cheap California burgundy
gesticulating carelessly
swirling dangerously in fine crystal
longing to be supped, sipped, inhaled
wobbling treacherously beyond the void
I sweep my hand toward
expensive perfume
which fails to hide your animal sensuousness
I sniff and wobble, wobble and sniff
following a trajectory beneath a smudged moon
sensing your animalistic nature and soul
I know you're not satisfied in your restraint
we talk politely
offer each other suitable, though forced banter
as we courteously speak
it is our eyes
perfidious holes, each sensing
black depths of our souls
even darker pleasantries of our past
you realize
I am but one more beastly shadow
stalking your manicured turf
we clink glasses
in the superficialness of the night's blushing
I'm almost angrily in lust
staring at the enjoyable arch of your neck
in the distorted yellow of the moon's smolder
you lean into me asking
for a kiss
my mouth trembles
understanding the night is ours
time for flesh to consume flesh

Another very strong visual which could, indeed, span across time...

Sure Mark, my poem spans across time, of course it does. My work, my poetry are about 90% taken from reality of a life I have led in the past and the ten percent is from what I am going through today as I inch closer and closer to specter's crypt.
