Harvest Moon

As the soft velvet of night falls
the air grows comfortably cool
Few clouds drifting across the sky
showing a canopy of stars

Eyes drawn to eastern horizon
waiting for a rare appearance
For the second time in this month
a full moon becomes a blue moon

A rare moon not seen for three years
speeds up the heartbeat with desire
Romance and passions flow stronger
influenced by starlight magic

Finally raising above trees
bright with celestial glory
Glowing with a magical light
the red-orange of a harvest moon

Such a sight is even rarer
that farmers feel an inner joy
A harvest moon and a blue moon
come together in silent awe

Wow, sweet Lady, you have done it again! Another magical poem that finds me smiling, as you have really caught the special atmosphere of this enchanting moon event!

Brava!

I can only echo Margherita, Karen, in that you do these celestial pieces so wonderful, it is like reading words handed down by the masters, which I am sure someday you will be heralded as such.

You're nature poems are always such a treat.  And the moon has provided the perfect inspiration.  A pleasure to read, as always.

A real delight to read.
