that four-letter word
love
probably the most used word in the world
it's been spoken in different languages
since time immortal
it is a versatile word, this word love
I love Jerry's minestrone
don't'ja just love (insert name of popular movie actor/actress)
whole magazines dedicated to love
the card companies of the world
go out of business
without the use of the word
love
we just love to love

eh . . .
yet and still
the word in respect to us
seems anemic
not enough oomph
to describe how I (speaking for myself)
feel about you
you use a word long enough
(like anything else)
it eventually becomes boring
still . . .
when I want you to know how much I care about you
I, without a doubt, say those three little words
I love you

And I am sure, Jerry, that when you say those magical three words they are filled with vibrating energy and go straight to the heart of the receiver!

Yes, no doubt, we might be over using the word and not distinguish enough, but when we mean it, it becomes inalterable like pure gold.

Enjoyed your LOVE ponderings very much.

Thank you, , and you better believe it, when we say those words and mean them they take on a completely different sound. But then, it also depends on the one you are saying them to. Thank you for being here.

An introspective look at a very precarious word.  Then there are those among us whose only practical experience with love is the fact that they're in love with the idea of being in love, but have no idea of what the giving side of love entails... the sacrifice, and the consistant giving, no matter what is being received.

What it comes down to, in my opinion anyway, is the fact we all relate to the emotional feeling we term love, but few look beyond that feeling to do what they can to make sure the happiness is a shared feeling, and the relationship one that is capable of enduring.

Anyway, I could go on about this forever, but I won't put you through that.     Thought provoking words, that's for sure.  Nicely done, Jer.

Michael

Oh, and I got to say it:

"Love is more than just a word used too often.  But too often, love is just a used word,"

Sometimes there is no other word that expresses
how one feels ; love is a beautiful word.

Michael, you are a very astute observer of life. And you are one hundred percent correct when you say . . .
quote:
there are those among us whose only practical experience with love is the fact that they're in love with the idea of being in love, but have no idea of what the giving side of love entails... the sacrifice, and the consistent giving, no matter what is being received.

I was like what you said above all my life until recently. I appreciate your indepth comments on this subject.

Yes, it is, Ms. E., even though some will disagree. Thank you.

Nice writing...I suppose sometimes it is used too much if it is used incorrectly...what is the opposite of love, is it hate or fear?...James

I think the opposite of love, James, is hate to fear. Haha! Thanks for stopping by.
