Questioning Love

One thing I miss
is the woman that I love
calling me from Chicago
and starting her conversation
with "hello honey" or "hello darling"
and always telling me "I love you".
These phone calls were one of the few things
we still shared as a couple
with her living so far away.
I suppose part of the reason
I miss the "honeys" is because thats a part
of love, or is it just an attachment that
I miss, for I find myself pondering,
if she loved me why isn't she with me,
if she loves me why did she move back to Chicago?
So I am hoping that as the attachments die
I will still feel the love that I feel now,
for if not, I have to question my love.

Love
is mercurial and swift
a bubble
a rock
something to float within
and stand upon...
True love will find various definitions
based upon the complexity of the
owners of the moment...
Love
will always be an answer
and a question
as I stated...
mercurial in nature...

You'll only know,
when you are struck dumb...

truly.

Maybe the longing is growing on both sides ... it could be after all, but if not, there is most certainly someone else getting ready to call you "honey" or "darling". You are so right, we get used to such words, they are addictive like chocolate kisses.

Lovely pondering, dear James.
