ah, the mirror
the face staring back in the morning
no bamboozling of your age
just look
shift your eyes away quickly

eh, one more day
on the surface of this planet
facing my confessor
staring back at me

Thank you, my friend, Karen for your continued support with my sometimes inane dribbling.

Reality...
What else do we have.

Enjoy your openness expressed in your writing.

Reality is it, JL. Dreams? Sure. But you can't always count on dreams. You can one hundred percent count on reality. Thank you for being here.

You're braver than I am - I cover the danged thing... just peeking enough to make sure I haven't forgotten curlers in my hair or some other faux pas that would scare folks if I walked out the door! LOL

Great write, JP!

Not sure if you've read Goodkind's Sword of Truth series, in which case a confessor is someone who extracts truth with just a touch, although simultaneously melting all neccessary brain functionality... or just from a religious vantage point, where you confess you sins hoping for some sort of absolution but in either case it's profoundly scary.  Great write.

Nope, Michael, missed out on that series, but my brain functionality has been diminishing greatly over the years. Hah! No lie. Thank you for finding this and shooting it upward.

I enjoyed your poem, JP. It has caused me to reflect upon my life. That book Michael mentioned sounds like something I'd like to read...
