WOULDN’T IT BE “LOVERLY”?
(with thanks to the My Fair Lady adaptation of George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion and a couple of age-old clichés)
3 August 2012

Wouldn’t it be loverly
if the rain in Spain could
stay mainly on the plain
and pigs could fly
and wishes were horses
so beggars could ride
and we all had the security
(and freedom from terror)
of a basic income
to cover food, animals, shelter,
basic clothes and utilities
and we had to work our butts off
for extras and luxuries like a lollipop?

It truly would be, oh Owly one.  Maybe someday it will be ... maybe.  We can always dream if we are dreamers like you and me.

Thank you, loverly one.

Smiles, Alison.  Thank you for your loverly reply!  Yes, we can dream, can't we.

More than loverly... it would be heavenly! *S* I love your use of a lollipop as luxury... it's the small things that matter so much, isn't it? *S* Beautiful write!

I am so glad pigs can not fly!  LOL  I could just imagine air control with Miss Piggy of the Muppets in command. haha!  An idyllic world would probably leave us bored to tears, but I, too, have a wish for more than the hardships that deplete life of joy and laughter.

Loverly... lollipops and roses, Diana!

Giggles, Karen, at the image of Miss Piggy doing Air Control of pink (or black or pink and black), cuddly curly-tails!  I didn't mean an idyllic word, hence the absolute need to work hard for anything more than the bare necessities - just to bring us peace to work at what we really want to work at or for.  Smiles.
