     Moon-shadows and
     Quicksilver Dreams

primordial nocturnal orb
pure, lustrous, ethereal
hung in the boundless,
eternal cosmic void
to wax and wane in
‘Deep-Time’ perpetuity.
we are but moon-shadows
  and morning mist ...
our rolling lives of brief flux
and quicksilver dreams
like the smoky mirage
in a broken mirror
with truths and true purpose
glimpsed dimly at best
amid an ever-growing knowledge
of our magnificent and endemic
   ignorance.

The title drew me...the writer kept me...the thing about knowing how little we know is the thill of knowing there is so much to learn that we could never learn it all in a lifetime...I have spent a lifetime learning and the most important thing I have learned is there is no end to learn...Love this poem...it gives my mind exercise and my heart harmony...**BIG HUGS**

Very beautiful indeed, Bruce.

I love the ironic truth of:

amid an ever-growing knowledge
of our magnificent and endemic
   ignorance.

How little we know, indeed!

Ah, Bruce, how you put it all together for your readers to marvel at is a wonderful sight to see each time you compose. You have the knack, Sir, and the knack is formidable.

Your deep wisdom never ceases to amaze me, Bruce. This is a magnificent example of that wisdom and special poetic talent.
