Tonight as I lay crying
Feeling lost and feeling blue
There came to me a vision
Of loveliness,of you

You took my hand
And held me near
You smiled so sweetly
And dried my tears

You held me close
Close to your heart
And gently promised
We shall not part

You pledged your love
And once again
You promised the end
of this lonely pain

This lonely pain
This feeling of dread
This feeling of emptyness
That space on the bed

You took my arm
If only that were true
For tonight I'm alone
I was dreaming-of you.

Thank you so much Sunshine, you know it's a funny thing a few years ago I was in a relationship and I tried to write poems for my partner but they were hard to write and were pretty awful, fast forward to a few weeks ago and a lady who I have always wanted but been too shy to tell sends me an email and we soon fall head over heels in love and now I find poems are literally pouring out of me.
I guess true love is really inspiring me,sad thing is she is on the other side of the world in Utah so it's hard being apart from the one who is meant for you.
Thanks for the lovely comments.
Cheers

Lovelorn... I feel the emotions in this one.  You can be in the same room with someone and not connect, or, as you say, across the world, and dreams begin to take wing.
