the best part of this latest empty
is how quietly the door has closed
and how the window always has warm
looking in from the morning again

or how the trees have become round
instead of flat shadows standing guard
like picket fences pretending to be sheep
that one can count with dragging sticks

or the hesitation in stranger's voices
when they don't say anything special
just passing time to another stranger
like reading a book without reading

or how short the nights have become
when one fills them with teaspoons
letting the moments be assigned sand
and memory being that gentle breeze

that can with predictability lose everything

I've read many of your poems - but never has one touched me so deeply. I can't copy my favorite parts because I love every word in every line. Tears may blur my eyes with every read, but this is one I'll read many times... it's going straight into my library.

I agree with suthern, I can't pick out a favorite line because I love the entire poem.  It's stunning in its beauty.

Your first verse gave me the warm fuzzies.

The view from you is always painted with both a splash and attention to detail.

That's what makes your dark colors come alive... for me.
