Subtle Don't stand out don't be overt in your emotions or distaste. Accept what is in front of you without protest for fear that you may be cast aside, shunned, disgraced. Be professional, be noble, be understanding to a fault, smile as the open wound is salved with vitreous and salt. Lead by example in opposition to your instinct and comprehension. Accept that to state a fault in those under your commission is cruel condescension. Be a servant, be a saint, be serene in the face of the unruly, unjust, and unreproved and suffer the question "Why have things not improved?" Woe be the watchword of the honest man that is denied the privilege of open dialogue. And pity us who live in the age of the subtle. When paper egos are burned by the spark of unabridged truth.
