in the shadows

The beast of dark complacency hides in my abyss

in broken wisps of yearning fallen hard,

left remiss and rotting in cold solitude;

art is forming simple substance from the void.

Flowers make no promises

to rhyme in beauty's precious flash

of petals strewn in headlong dash to race eternity

while mountains softly laugh at staid millennia;

their only crime withstanding life in passing,

I am but a moment's quiet

rattle into time.

and in this time
as mountains laugh
watching petals
drift slowly pass
flowers bloom their
lightning rays
that stream minutely
thru the days
piercing darkness
of the past
thankful of quiet sounds,
everlast.
