I might have dreamt it all
but no, I don't think so
still, I pinched myself to make sure
then I heard, you've got mail
of course it was you
my online friend and lover
no mas, no mas
you've shut the door in my face
did you ever exist
your smile in pixels so sweet
do you still "chat" and use those
cute little emoticons
now that you're gone away
are you charming somebody new
sigh . . . I could never bridge
the distinction of your purity
eh, one of these days
if you ever feel betrayed
and tears flow like a weeping willow
I'll still care
You fulfilled me with your transitory warmth

Jerry
I like how you start out sad and backing out of the hurt zone but then you take a stand within yourself and level with the reality of it all. Finding something at least positive, is what keeps us sane sometimes.
Fantasy or truth it's a great write and a thought promoter.

Write on!

Oh, it's true Eric. I appreciate your fine-tuning of the poem, thanks a lot.

Remember real mail? Days and weeks going by before hearing from a beloved? Or when our servicemen would go for weeks and months before that blessed letter arrived?

In my holdings, I have correspondence from a father to a son, who reminded his son to "please write a little more often, ten years is too long between letters." That was written in the 1860's.

Oh, we are so spoiled, in this day and age, when we do not hear from our beloved.

Reach out.

I agree, Karilea, we are spoiled, big time. Reach out? Naw, it wouldn't do any good. Thanks for reading my whining poem and the advice.

Thank you for your continued support, Ms. E. Yeah, I'm sorry about her also. This will be the last whining poem about it though. Does no good and people just get weary of them.

You may think people get weary of it but it is still a very good way to write out some of the pain...*BIG HUGS* my friend

Thanks, Karen, but it seems to hurt more when I focus completely on it.

so easy these days to press the 'send' button, but far worse when the button is ignored.
