IDa

She's always been there...

to pick up the
pieces of love left behind by a lover
pieces of a soul that frayed at the seam
pieces of a name once whole yet to be grounded again

She's always been there...

when the going got tough
reminding one of their worth
reminding one of their value
reminding one of their birth

She's always been there...

Are you privileged to know her?

What a beautiful poem, Edna. I am truly honored by your words. Not many are so lucky to have a friend like you.

Only in the Blue Room am I acquainted with her, MS E, but you are correct in your assumption of the gentle one.

I've only had the pleasure of knowing Ida from these forums, but your tribute expounds greatly on the kindness I have seen in her.  You lucky to know someone like that in person... and Ida, we can't thank you enough for what you've shared with us all.

I can feel the beauty, the preciousness and the intensity of your bond of friendship, dear Ebonygirl.

And dear Ida shines on these blue pages for all of us, with just the qualities you so lovingly describe.

"Are you privileged to know her?"

It would be a blessing, for sure.
