Stuff...
People spend
a lifetime collecting it
and then they die
and nobody wants all that
STUFF,
because it's not THEIR stuff.
Everyone has their own stuff.
Closets, garages and sheds
full of stuff.
TOO MUCH STUFF.

Hah! Not me, Ida. I don't have very much stuff at all. You are correct in your general assumption though, people have too much stuff.

Greed is one the cause for most of the sufferings faced by mankind. This is fine writing.

Rofl...  and just try to get rid of some of that stuff.  It sneaks back to you in the middle of the night... I swear it does.  This was so true, Ida.  Humanity's true crutch, indeed, is all that STUFF.

Thank you all for stopping by and James, there are some things worth saving. It's just so hard to figure out which ones.

ROFL! I've spent the past 2 weekends determined to cull some of my stuff - only to be overwhelmed by the magnitude of stuff! LOL And that's especially ridiculous since Hurricane Ike did a major stuff-clearing for me less than 4 years ago - where did this stuff come from? LOL Enjoyed this oh so true write!!!

LOL! You're so right Ida!

I just love this writing of yours.
Isn't it crazy how you can move into a new house and within a few years the basement and the garage is full of TOO MUCH STUFF!

Reminds my of Delbert McClinton's song "Too Much Stuff" and it's along the same lines as this.

What a wonderful poem for today!  I am going to be getting rid of some of my STUFF today and packing some of it away to save.

Too much darn STUFF around here.

All that stuff really weighs you down, but there is some stuff I couldn't bare to part with.  What a catch 22!!

Good write Ida, you always make me think and bring clarity to my life and times.

Oh, dear Ida, this is such a faithful mirror of our epoch!

With age should come wisdom, but when we reach that phase, we don't have the energy anymore usually to get rid of the surplus.

Sometimes I dream of empty spaces, such as a convent's cell, with nothing but white walls ... but they would remain bare just for a little while anyway!

Love,
Margherita
