Mom said choose your battles,
stand your ground but never stay put-
and if your wings get broken,
fold them to heal and go it on foot...

I said the same to the girl who looks alot like me.

There's a place called heaven I probably won't see.

But I'm ready for rain, thunder, and wind,
knowing he won't turn around again.
He was once all that I lived for;
I can't live to love anymore.

I gave the same advice to the girl
who looks alot like me-
keep on walking in your shoes,
leave battles you didn't choose,
heaven awaits for you to see.

"Stay your ground but never stay put ..."

I wouldn't say that this is cheap advice, dear Dixie. Indeed we need to move beyond our wounds to heal them and walk safely on our path of life.

And ... if you won't see heaven who will?

This is very touching and intense.

Hugs.

Beautifully sad, passing shadows. And I am yet one more that will not see Heaven. This is a special poem, my friend.

Hey PS good to see you back.
Well written but don't ever sell yourself short.
Don't worry about heaven or hell there's nothing interesting to do at either place.
This is it right now baby and don't be hung up on anyone for that long.
You can heal like a broken leg and keep on going.
Some great advice in this piece too.
I really enjoyed it.

thank you each

I'm glad to report that I have my new computer and it's fast and doesn't annoy me like the old one! (poor people at the WildBlue internet service *shaking head*) So I should be online more now.

I can play my music at the same time I am wanting to write, that's inspiring! I couldn't do that with my old computer.

So I'm still trying to jump back in the saddle again I'm a little rusty.

Thanks for the words and feelings
I hope to be getting back into getting here every day.

I'd call these wise words instead of cheap advice - regardless of who's doing the saying. *S*

Beautiful work, Shadowy One... and congrats on the new 'puter!

What a beautiful expression this entire poem is.  You are so right to pay such advise forward.  A lot of lessons in there many of us have never learned, even as we've aged and should be the ones doing the profound thinking.
