5th Studio Street

Heavy confused breeze played their naughty tricks,
That eve, roads took severe turns, walls without bricks,
Flying hopeless leaves watched those falling trees,
Rhythmic silver danced, twirled and sang with ease,

Egyptian kerosene oil lamp light gazed through,
Dusty untouched window, across creepers grew,
Half rusted bronze knobs of the door turned,
Old teak, creaking, menacing sounds returned,

Corner grabbed blank canvas with utmost care,
Vacant easel, cob web jewels adorned the chair,
Charcoal shattered, pastels hued, oils gone dry,
On dust filled studio floor, laid a dead dragon fly.

Ohhh, the apprehension builds trembles with the feeling of vacancy, but it's not empty.  The images also point to abandonment of dreams and hopes.  Is it not true that dragonflies are supposed to be a symbol of fortune?  This poem is going to haunt my dreams tonight.

THIS is world class, Prasad. I have added it to my library to revisit time and time again.

Wow! You make those images really grow the way you bring this to a conclusion Prasad.
The silence of some types of reality.
Great writing

Prasad,

the imagery in this lovely writing was spell-binding. I had no idea where you were taking me, but at the very end, I read it again, and this time, looked at it through the eyes of the dragonfly as he took his last flight.

Astounding! Thank you!

Powerful work, dear Prasad! It brings growing emotion with an almost apocalyptic touch, but there is the "blank canvas" as if it represented a promise of a future that is meant to be.

Excellent!

This is wonderful writing.  The visuals that you created for me to savor, the way the words wove together, the smell of the dust all entranced me.

Love this!

the scene was very vivid, easy to picture in my mind...a sweetness and a loneliness, a warm scene though.
